Here is the thing most people never hear from a builder: the difference between an ordinary new house and an exceptional one is mostly invisible. It is in the air sealing at every plate and penetration, the insulation installed without gaps or compression, the ventilation planned instead of accidental. Those details decide what the house costs to heat for the next fifty Minnesota winters, and they are nearly impossible to retrofit properly once the drywall is up.
We came to general contracting from insulation, and it shows in how we build. Rim joists get closed-cell foam, penetrations get sealed as trades finish, and the envelope is treated as a system that has to work as one. The result is a home that holds temperature evenly room to room, stays quiet, and starts its life efficient instead of needing an energy retrofit in year ten.
